We believe the people doing the work should see what is going on. In most operations it is the other way round: those who decide most often — at the dock, at the gate, in dispatch — are the last to learn what is happening.
Systems know the plan: which shipment goes on which tour, what is booked, what gets invoiced. None of them knows what is actually happening in the hall right now. Decisions are made there every hour all the same — which tour first, where a package is, whether a vehicle can leave — by radio, by shouting across the hall, and off a printout from last night.
We build the data layer that closes that gap. Scans on the handheld, events at the gate, indoor location, vehicle positions and, in trial, the GeminEYE camera sensor describe the state of operations in the moment it arises.
The first application on it is Pollux Loading: the cockpit for loading in a groupage terminal, live for 18 months across the ZUFALL logistics group. Master data stays in the TMS. We record what happens to it in the hall.
Package scans
Every package scanned when staged and again when loaded. A tour's status is the sum of those scans.
