From paper to light
The film is composited on the GPU and needs WebGL. Without it, the closing frame stays on screen.
A single sheet of paper is the whole world of this film. The loading list of a local run folds into a truck, opens out as the floor plan of the hall, and its ruled lines become the marked bays of a cross-dock floor: pallets stand on them, pallet trucks weave between them. Then the ink lifts off the paper: what was printed becomes light.
The sparks settle into five stars, the star chart turns into roads at dawn, and the rising sun opens as an eye: the Pollux mark. With every scan the three printing plates move closer together, until, with one blink, the image ends up exactly in register. Now you see what is.
